They reported the debt on my credit report as a charge off. When I disputed it with the Credit Reporting agencies as not mine they validated the debt. I contacted them via certified mail with a " Notice of Direct Dispute '' under FCRA 623 ( a ) ( 8 ) ( D ) and they never responded. I filed a complaint with you indicating that they would not respond to my letters and they finally responded and promised to send " statements for the life of the account '' ( see attached letter from them ) Despite repeated requests I 've received NOTHING from them.. This is a direct violation of the FDCPA 15 U.S.C. 1692e ( 2 ) ( a ) which prohibits the false representation of " the character, amount, or legal status of any debt ''.
