In trying to lift a credit freeze from Transunion, I submitted what I thought was a request to control that freeze process. It turns out, though, that this was a credit *monitoring and alert* service. I gave them a credit card number for payment. However, the site had nothing to do with my credit freeze, which required a separate log-in and payment schema. Then I started receiving $20.00 charges each month from Transunion for this service. Apparently I had signed up for a trial period and the regular payments started. Exceptionally frustrating and shady.
