FirstMerit Bank Consumer Loan department,
Vehicle loan Managing the loan or lease Ohio
My husband and I have been trying to get a payoff on a RV loan faxed to - in -, Ohio from First Merit Bank in -, Ohio for the past 10 days. We are senior citizens and have decided we are getting too old to be hauling an RV everywhere. We have an interested young man who wants to buy it. His loan has been approved through the bank in -. The bank requested the payoff in writing be faxed to them from First Merit. After numerous phone calls requesting the fax be sent, they are now telling us only - handles that and she is out of the office. They wo n't give us - supervisors name. In the meantime we have had to turn down - prospective buyers because we think it is sold. Our buyer is getting impatient because he needs the RV for his business travels. Seriously 10 days to figure a payoff which the computer will do and fax a document? That 's really inefficient and unprofessional. We 've had payoff information faxed from other banks recently and they all did it while we were on the phone with them. First Merit is going to cause us to lose the sale on the RV. And we 've turned other prospective buyers down.
