Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
Short version : Due to series of bank errors, a credit card account was closed due to late payment. The late payment and account closure were reported to -, -, - - and -. Due to this, I was denied a credit card by the credit union through which I applied. I 'm in the process of closing my accounts with Wells Fargo Bank ( WFB ) and moving them to - - -. Details : My only credit card issued through Wells Fargo was stolen in -/-/- so I was issued a replacement credit card with new account number. For automatic payment, the credit card department connected my card to a closed checking account, not my error. Ergo, the payment was denied and I was charged $33.00 for the denied payment and then a $15.00 late fee. The closed bank account was not attached to my savings account so that the payment was not taken from there, again, a bank error. Further, I was unaware of any of this because I never received a paper bill, my credit card account was not listed on the account summary page I frequently signed on to check on line and my credit card account did not reflect the address change I made to my account soon after the new credit card was issued. Address changes on my other accounts with the same bank were made immediately. I have done business with WFB for years and have never had any problems of this sort. It may be of interest to note that in - 2016, I was given a loan through WFB for a car I bought. That loan has been paid in full.
