I was a victim of identity theft - - An account with - - was opened 3 days after we filed a report, but I was not notified of anything until a collection agency contacted me in - -. I called - and was told they would take care of it. - - a - collection agency contacted me. I again contacted - and sent the information they requested by e-mail and received an e-mail in reply -/-/- I received no further contact until -/-/- when a - collection agency contacted me. When I asked - why the debt collection notification was the first I knew about the account they told me the original address was in - - -. I live in -. They could n't tell me how they then got my correct address. My husband and I have done everything to ensure that the identity theft was reported correctly and I know the FTC was notified also. I do n't understand why - thinks that we will pay this bill.
