Wells Fargo & Company Credit card department,
On my Wells Fargo credit card I made a balance transfer of $900.00 which carries no interest for 18 months. After that I made about another $1000.00 of purchases, which are subjust to a regular purchase APR. I made some payments and got paid from a larger contract, so when I applied my payment in - 2016 my balances were as follows : $930.00 in purchases. $780.00 in 0 interest promotional balance. I made 2 payments during my statement period, $100.00 on -/-/16 and $1200.00 on -/-/16. The last purchase I had in the period was on -/-/-, so the purchase balance was established with no pending transactions. When I called Wells Fargo Customer Service to inquire about how my payment was applied I was informed directly that the computer " splits up the payments as it sees fit '' so that any money applied after the minimum payment due gets inexplicably divided between my balance subject to
with the CARD Act, and was told that I was, in fact, correct and that they had made a mistake in how the payment was applied. My case has been escalated to be reviewed and to have my payment applied correctly. This is highly concerning to me, as Wells Fargo is probably making millions off of unsuspecting customers or those who do n't know any better. In reviewing my account further I found that every month Wells has applied my payments in this split manner, thus preserving an interest-bearing balance on my card despite receiving amounts that should have satisfied it - therefore still charging me interest.
