Through my - - Credit card, I have access to credit tracking using TransUnion credit information. Recently, TransUnion moved from TransUnion New Account Model where my credit score was around - ( - ) to - - where my score dropped to - ( - ). The new model shows excellent for on time payments ( a strong impact on your credit score ), excellent on oldest credit line, average on credit used, average on New Accounts, - on Available Credit, and - - on recent inquiries which has a low impact on a credit score. I can not figure out how I can have a below average score with average to excellent scores on - factors and - below average on a factor that has low impact on a credit score. I contacted TransUnion for clarification and was told 'the computer calculates the score ' so there is nothing that can be done. i tried to explain the computer can only do this, if there is a human creating the parameters for the computer to make the calculations. The computer can not make decisions on its own but must be told how to make the calculations. I asked for a manager to call me back so I could discuss this. After a week of waiting for a call, no one has called me back. This type of error costs the consumers a lot of money from increased interest and or points on loans. In addition this - - product is pushing the consumer to pay for a credit monitoring service. If the credit scores were calculated appropriately many people would not need credit monitoring services. I need someone to look into this credit score calculation. Without regulation, these services have become very lucrative businesses
