Wells Fargo & Company Consumer Loan department,
Vehicle loan Shopping for a loan or lease Alabama
I 'm not sure if this needs to be a complaint or just an answered question. Anyway, my wife and I went to a car dealership on -/-/15. My wife gave them an application for a car, was told it was approved, and she signed the paperwork and we left in the car ... .I was not part of any of the paperwork, application, nor did I give any of my information. 5 days later, I noticed I had - credit inquiries where that dealer send my info for credit to - different banks. I immediately called them, and they denied doing so. In fact, the sales manager put me on speaker phone and - managers denied that it was even possible, said it must have been someone else, and copped an attitude about the whole issue. I called Wells Fargo, since they are the bank that the dealer said my wife was approved at, and they also denied running my credit. I to.d them that they ca n't deny the inquiry, when 's it 's clearly on my report, and was told again that it was not them. I told them I would get an attorney, so she immediately
called the dealer back, and he said that they pulled my data accidentally from 2 years ago, but did not use my name. They said it should have flagged that the name, DOB, and jobs did not match the file. They said they were n't sure what to do, but would fix it. Today, after - calls, and - email, the - finally called me back and said that Wells Fargo just switched everything to my wife 's social security and all is good now, no need for new paperwork, or anything else. I told him I wanted a letter that I can provide to - and the - banks, and he said he would. He was still very short with me, never apologized, and acted like it was no big deal. Can something be done for them doing this? I now have - Inquries, and a mess I have to clean up. It just do n't seem fair to me.
