Credit monitoring or identity protection Problem cancelling or closing account Ohio
I paid $1.00 for my credit score and was required to agree to the 7 day trial period for credit monitoring of which I could cancel at anytime. I attempted to cancel within the hour but was redirected to sign into an online account which I never set up leaving me the only option of calling them to cancel. It was a weekend and their office was closed so I called the next following business day. I was told my membership was cancelled and I thought that was the end. 3 months later I noticed a charge from transunion on my credit card statement and followed up to see I had been charged 4 times for a service which I was told had been cancelled. I called transunion to rectify the situation. I spoke with no less than - different people with strong - accents and had to keep asking them to repeat what they said and/or speak more slowly. After a 20 minute phone call, most of which was spent on hold, I was once again told that my " inactive '' membership had been cancelled, I would not be billed again, and they would credit my payments back to me and that it could take up to - billing cycles. I 'm not sure I have any reason to believe they will do any of those things since the initial cancelling of the service was mired in hidden webpages/accounts and my first phone call to them resulted in nothing more than wasted time.
