Installment loan Problems when you are unable to pay Missouri
My wife passed -/-/-. I was laid off a few months later. I wrote One Main Financial, along with my statement letting them know I could no-longer pay the full monthly amount and would like to renegotiate. I had lost my wife 's income, accumulated medical bills and now was living on just my social security. They ignored my request. I stopped letting money to be withdrawn from my bank in One Main 's name. It did n't take long for them to call me. Once again I asked to renegotiate. They said -I did not fall under their hardship clause. They kept calling me. I explained we would have to renegotiate or I would be forced to file bankruptcy. After several calls they said they would lower my rates to 4.78 % and cut my payments in half. However, I had to return to the office where the account was opened. Over 3 hours where I now live. After several more discussions I was turned over to their corporate office. I was to present proof of income and sign a hardship notice. I did so, in - -, Mo. which was faxed directly to their corporate office. Again I
was last sent refused to do anymore leg work for them to resolve this matter. Note, I contacted them before we ever got to this point. - - corporate called me the next day. asked me again to go to another of their branches and resubmit everything. This time I went to the - -, Mo. branch. I once again explained my position. I was told they could resubmit my paper work but would still be considered as a credit risk until I paid over $1200.00 to be caught up on my payments. This is n't renegotiating! I did submit the paper work again, they lowered my rate to 8 % and my payments to $150.00 per month for 24 months. At the end of this loan I will have a balloon payment for the remainder. I turn - in -/-/-. I doubt I will ever get this completely paid but will do everything possible to keep my end of the agreement. My complaints are simple, 1- I notified them early and before they contacted me so an agreement could be reached. 2- I did all the leg work driving hundreds of miles trying to get a branch that would work with me. 3- Once the loan was refinanced my credit should have been restored to a good standing. 4- They and their branches lied saying at times I never showed, which I did, found out they only keep out of branch paper work a few days. The same as calling me a liar. 5- Each branch gave me a different amount to pay to get out of the rears or get a lower rate. -/-/- I let them into my account to remove a payment of $330.00, this month the payment should be $150.00.
