I am a current Avant customer. I have had a loan with them for 14 months - every payment made on time & auto deducted. I applied for a refinance & was given a TIL. All of the sudden, after putting in my bank information, they denied me. After waiting for two weeks, I was finally sent a denial notice via email. They denied me, a current customer, for " unable to verify identity. '' I attempted to call to speak to them & was told that I had to email their compliance department. When I did, they would n't answer me with what or why they were unable to verify the identity of a current customer. I believe I have the right as a consumer to know why my current loan company is unable to verify my identity. They have all of my personal information, including my social security number, bank information, name & date of birth. If they needed something additional, then they could have requested it. I believe this is a false reason for the denial & I also believe I am entitled to the reasons for a denial from a lender considering I meet their criteria. They have no problem verifying my identity to take my monthly payment each month so obviously this could n't be a great concern for them.
