i was a victim of identity theft, so i put a freeze on my account. due to the identity theft, under california law i can freely do temporary lifts. at equifax and experian i can easily go to their freeze website and use the pin they sent me to temporarily lift the freeze, but at transunion i was forced to setup an account and even then using my pin i 'm charged $10.00 to temporarily lift the freeze. i 've called to manually lift the freeze, but that is a long process since it is almost impossible to get to someone to speak to and impossible to do on the weekend. i 've asked them various times to fix it and the response i get from customer support ranges from, we ca n't to next time it will work ... it has become so burdensome that i 'm willing to pay the $10.00 to do the lift.
