TMX Finance LLC Consumer Loan department,
Vehicle loan Taking out the loan or lease Texas
My wife is -, with a number of ailments, including a - -. She has never had any financial experience whatsoever and does not have a clue what any of the terms mean. Several months ago, our daughter " needed '' some money for something and she suggested my wife get a title loan on the Lexus I had just paid cash for. The TitleMax people were only too happy to take the title to the car and give her less than half of what it was worth. It appears she may have gotten something TitleMax would call " disclosures '', but she did not understand them and ended up signing under pressure for a loan with 116 % APR. She was loaned $5000.00, has made $7000.00 in payments and they want another $6000.00 to release the title. My wife is - ( was at the time of the loan ) and can not work. I am currently ( for the past year ) undergoing - for the second time. She is going to lose her car after paying more than ten times what she should have paid for a short term " loan ''. Its pretty clear these people, who have very aggressive phone sales practices, are dishonest sharks that ought to be put in jail. Among other things, we are alleging a severe violation of UDAAP - clearly my wife was at risk and they took advantage of her age and lack of financial sophistication. We want the title back and any money already paid that exceeds a fair rate of interest. These guys are serious crooks - why are they allowed to remain in business???? They prey on the poor and those who are down on their luck.
