On Monday of this week, I logged on to Avantcredit.com. The website said I could check my rate and loan amount without effecting my credit. I answered the questions and was pre-approved for a large dollar loan. I was only needing $2500.00 and not the huge loan amount that was pre-approved. After three days, my loan still had not been approved. I called their customer service and was told they needed to verify my employment. Each day I would call and received the same response, waiting to verify employment. On the 4th day after calling and letting them know I had filed a complaint with the -, they denied my loan. I believe this may have been retaliation?? Avant is a sub prime lender with extremely high interest rates. It 's pretty hard to be denied a loan by these type of finance companies. I have also had a loan with this company in the past and paid the loan off well before the final payment. This company is very misleading when they state you are pre approved for a loan up to a certain dollar amount. It does not say anything about based on additional credit criteria after applying for the loan. It also stated my credit would not be effected when applying??? Not so sure abut this yet. It will take a few weeks to show up on my credit report. My other complaint about this company is that they ask for your user ID and password to your personal checking account. I was extremely uncomfortable providing this information. They claim the information will be kept secure. Based on my experience with this company, I do n't think anything is secure with them.
