Medical False statements or representation Attempted to collect wrong amount California
On -, I went to - - - Hospital because I suffered from -. Upon checking in, they informed me the machine they have that tests that was broken. So I immediately checked out and went to a different ER. I received a bill from - - - Hospital on - for $100.00, since that was my emergency room co-pay with - after what they contributed, which I promptly paid. That was the end of that. At least, until the morning of -/-/15 when I received a call from CMRE Financial Services stating I owed $130.00. This was complete news to me as for over 2 1/2 years I heard nothing more about this. They informed me that - - - - - sold them my case back on -/-/13. That they 've sent notices to - of my addresses and interest had been accumulating on it. Instantly a red flag was raised because both addresses they told me were obviously wrong. - - - Hospital always had my right address and that 's where the doctors would pull it from. So why would they have been provided - incorrect addresses? And why would I be charged interest on an
$130.00 - total I oweRed flag number 2 goes up. If my emergency room co-pay is only $100.00, why did - charge me more? Also, why did n't - send me an itemized statement of what they contributed like they did for all my other treatments? Red flag number 3 : the tests that CMRE said were performed on me never were as the machine was broken and there 's a record of that. Red flag number 4 : The hospital always had my phone number, why did CMRE never attempt to call me in 2 1/2 years time? Red flag number 5, CMRE had no address or phone number listed for this billing agency. And when I called - - - Hospital, they said they 're not based out of there and there was no way to reach them ( except by a lead on a phone number that does n't seem to be working ). Turns out it 's a scam and CMRE was complicit in insurance fraud and bilking me on interest charges on a charge that never existed nor was I notified of.
