Portfolio Recovery Associates, Inc. Credit card department,
I opened a secured credit card with - - - - Bank -/-/-. The bank closed and sold my account to - - Bank - -. I lost my job and tried closing the account with my $300.00 deposit and they told me there was no deposit or secured credit card and only had information that my card opened -/-/-. - - is reporting was reporting this on my credit reports. I called FDIC and they have no records of - - taking over any accounts from - - - or - -. Portfolio Recovery has bought the account from - - and is now reporting this Same account in collections on my credit reports. I sent them the letter from - - stating I do not owe the money and they are removing the account off my credit report. They said it is not enough proof to remove the amount I know owe them because they bought the account.
