Medical Disclosure verification of debt not given enough info to verify debt

State Collection Service, Inc. Debt collection department,

Medical Disclosure verification of debt Not given enough info to verify debt Illinois

I am filing a complaint against State Collection Services, - - - -, - wi, phone -. State Collection Services placed a derogatory item on my credit report -/-/-.I have never received any correspondence, bills, notices, phone calls, or any other attempt to reach me before this action took place. I called State Collection Services and they informed me that it was for a medical bill, from -/-/-. They could not verify the details. I have been at the same address for -, same phone for at least 10yrs, and nothing was sent to me regarding this Item. I have requested Validation of the Claim from both the Collection company and -. The action of affecting my credit rating without making a reasonable attempt to make any contact seems at the very least inappropriate and at its worst- likely unlawful. In speaking with the representative from State Collection Services, I was able to learn that the claim is a medical claim, but they could not provide any further documentation. They would have to request that information. It seems that to put an item on a credit report without a satisfactory attempt to reach me and without having the details of the claim, should be brought to your attention. thank your
