Upon purchasing my vehicle and the meeting with the Finance Manager, he kept trying to talk me into buying the extra insurance protection & GAP coverage. After going back and forth on it several times because I did n't want it, I decided to purchase it so he would stop talking and we could get the paperwork done so I and my children could go home. I later changed my mind during the paperwork process and declined the insurance protection. So, he had to re-do the paperwork without the added " protection. '' Somehow my interest rate went up 1 % on the new paperwork when I decided that I no longer wanted the insurance protection & GAP coverage. When I accepted the added insurance my rate was 3.95 % but when I declined it my rate went up to 4.95 %. I feel like I was discriminated against because I did n't want to purchase the added " protections. '' I believe that this practice is illegal.
