Wells Fargo Credit card department,
I legally settled a credit card account with Wells Fargo Bank on -/-/14. The balance at time of settlement was $13000.00 and I paid, per our settlement agreement, $6700.00. The amount they subsequently wrote off was $6700.00. I have attached a Satisfaction letter from Wells Fargo as proof that the account is fully satisfied, however, Wells Fargo continues to report a balance in the amount of $6700.00 for this account to my credit report at all - of the major credit reporting agencies - - -. Obviously this is harming my credit significantly. I have disputed this account both with the credit reporting agencies and, subsequently directly with Wells Fargo but they arrogantly do not respond to me with explanation and continue to reporting this balance, even though they clearly know they are reporting in error. To my understanding, this is a blatant violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I have also attached the - letters that I sent directly to Wells Fargo, informing them of their error in reporting.
