To whom it may concern, ProCollect Incorporated has violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Section 805 ( c ) : states that collection agencies must cease contact upon request, unless further efforts by this company are being terminated. Section 806 ( 5 ) : states that a debt collector may not engage in any conduct of which is to harass i.e. causing a telephone to ring continuously. Section 807 ( 5 ) : States that a debt collector may not threat to take action that can not legally be taken. Section 807 ( 8 ) : States that collection agencies must report that a disputed debt has been disputed. Section 809 ( b ) : States that if a consumer notifies the debt collector within the thirty-day period ( a ) that a debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt. Be advised that claims made by the creditor have not been validated, and have been disputed twice, while collection efforts continue. Since notifying this company that I was aware of these violations, they have sold the invalid debt to another collection agency. ProCollect Incorporated has committed acts of harassment and abuse of discretion, or otherwise not in accordance with federal law.
