In - I was living at a location in - VA where I had both - DSL internet and telephone service. I moved from that location on - -, - to a location where - was unable to provide any internet service. When I tried to have the billing stopped, I was told I would have an early cancellation fee of several - dollars but that my contract expired in - -. The CSR advised that I could pay the final month bill ( due in advance for internet ) at the beginning of - - and cancel the service then with no problem. I made that payment online on - - - and spoke with a CSR and confirmed that since they were not able to provide DSL service, that I would no longer be billed. When my bill arrived in - -, it still had charges for the DSL so I again called and complained and stated I refused to pay for a service they could not provide. Again, I was assured it was corrected and that I would not be billed and that I would see an adjustment on my next bill. This same process went on


about the billing. I heard absolutely nothing for literally years, not until I was declined for credit due to outstanding collections in -. Since I had filed a Chapter - bankruptcy in -, I was not aware of anything going to collections and had worked hard to keep all bills paid on time. I received the free credit report based upon credit denial and found the - collection. I then got copies of my other reports and found they were reporting to all - credit reporting bureaus. I disputed with all - agencies and explained exactly what happened and why I was not liable for the charges. - verified with all three agencies. I sent a letter to - detailing that I was not liable for the charges and why. In addition, I demanded they mark the account as disputed by consumer ''. I again pulled my credit reports in - - and - was still reporting and was not noted as disputed by consumer. '' Since then, - has disappeared from my credit reports but now I have Trident Asset Management ' reporting as a collection agency for -. In - -, I disputed this account with all - of the credit bureaus and again, it was verified and not marked as disputed. After that, I placed letters in the mail to both - and Trident Asset Management concerning this account. To date, neither agency has bothered to reply.
