In 2013 I defaulted on a credit card debt. This debt was subsequently charged off and reported to the IRS as bad debt. Chase is still reflecting and trying to collect the full amount of the debt - $2200.00 -. I want to pay this debt as I am in a better place financially. I ca n't possibly be expected to pay the bad debt and the taxes. Either cancel the debt and reflect it as a zero balance charge off and I pay the taxable income, or I will pay the bad debt. -
