I was unaware of this debt until I served with a summons. Med 1 is suing me. I received the summons on - for a court date -, During the weeks prior I tried to call Med 1 to see about a settlement but no one there was helpful and my attempts were deflected and futile. I have a company working on my credit and asked them what to do. They sent a letter ( attached ) asking for details on this. The lawyer '' - - '' at Med 1 refused to give him the information since they are not a law firm requesting it. Even though I did sign a power of attorney permitting the company to act for me. As a result I was lucky to get a continuance but only until -. I need details on what I am being sued for. How can I defend myself when I do n't have any of the information? This company is trying to skirt Federal law and bully me.
