I was informed - days ago by my future employer that I had an delinquent account totaling $2000.00. I called the leasing office where the debit was owed and was informed that it was for move out charges ( - ) my former husband accumulated. I was no longer in the home as of -. The leasing office - had my contact information including email address. There was no attempt to notify me of the debit. I was just informed the day I called. The total charges were $1800.00. They referred me to collection agency IQ Data International. I spoke with - who informed me that I could not make payments and that they would not send me any documentation that the loan exist. My only option was to pay the balance in full and if done in - days it would be deleted from my record. She stated if i could not pay i would need to get a loan from a bank. She referred me to a local bank. The next day i called and decided to make payments and not take a loan out because of the state of my current credit score. I was transferred to


was refusing to pay the loan and finished stating some sort of disclosure. I asked to speak to manager she said he was at lunch. I hung up called back spoke to another associate who said she could not speak to me about the account but that that managers where on lunch but she provided me with his ext. The managers voice mail had no greeting of the agency or managers name. I left a message and have yet to receive a call. How can i be responsible for paying a debit that i was not informed of then when i reach out to the collection agency they are not providing me any documentation. Do I not have rights, am i just expected to send money to an agency i do not even is legit.
