JPMorgan Chase Credit card department,
Delinquent account Massachusetts
Chase card services, like most financial providers, urges consumers to enroll for online statements, as it reduces costs. I enrolled to receive statements and information online, but unfortunately they do not tell you that late statements ( meaning you did not pay within the grace period ) are not sent when you elect the online/email option. For background, you should know that I had never had even a single delinquency in my - year credit history until now. Today, I have a - day late because Chase could not be bothered to send me a late notice via email nor call me as a courtesy prior to being - days late. I immediately paid the balance when contacted at - days late. Believe it or not, a single late in - years has affected my credit score and resulted in a higher rate for a mortgage I am in the process of obtaining. Had I known that I would only receive a courtesy late notice if I had kept my mail-only election, I would not have chosen the online option. I 've contacted Chase, but they have indicated that they will not remove the single delinquency and improve their online notification process. In the meantime, my mortgage will be at a higher rate. THIS IS VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. They need to improve their process.
