My company filed for chapter - bankruptcy - 2013 and listed the City - as a debtor. A law firm contacted my in about - of 2013 telling me that I owed a debt to the City - for an unpaid business license for 2013 for a company that was closed at the time the payment was due. We had previously closed the company on the City 's business web site. At this time I told them in writing of the chapter - filing and asked them to cease and desist all further attempts to collect the debt that was included in the bankruptcy. I never heard from them again until a few weeks ago when the same law firm sent me another demand letter for payment even though the debt was included in the bankruptcy filing and discharged.
