On - -, 2015 I made a payment of $130.00 through the automated system for my Dillard 's American Express credit card. The system prompted me asking would I like to use the current checking account information on file ending in, - - - -, used for the last payment. I stated yes, and the system asked me to hold while it processed the payment. I received a confirmation number afterward. In -, 2015 I received a notification stating due to nonpayment my account had been closed. Unbeknownst to me I had not be contacted before this letter. I immediately called Dillard 's, they transfered me to a Wells Fargo representative, -. He informed me, after reading my entire checking account number aloud, the system only captured the - digits of the checking account number and the payment sent was returned. I informed him that this account has a five year non delinquency history, also the credit bureaus report that a history of my on time payments as - of the things helping my FICO score, and based upon the information he provided reporting this as a delinquent account is inconsistent with my credit history. He informed me that this was a system error and could be fixed, however the account could not be open again. Nevertheless, to no avail over the course of three months I have disputed this matter with Dillard's/Wells Fargo- which I 've been told that I did not input information into the system correctly, although the payment was made through the automated system in which a confirmation was given ; also with each of the - credit bureaus as well. I am appalled at the lack of responsibility Wells Fargo has taken in correcting a mistake made in their system.
