Received call from IQ Data debt collectors claiming I owed $1200.00 in fees from apartment lease. I moved out in - of 2014 and they claimed there were fees racked up in - of 2014. Another person took over the lease and I had nothing to do with it from -, 2014. I received a call from a lady with IQ and she was very rude and insinuated that she 'd heard this type of claim before, insinuating that I was lying. I told her that this debt was not mine and I had nothing to do with it, she threatened If i did n't pay it, it would report to my credit. I told her again it was not mine and she said she 'd notate on the account that i was disputing but that i had to call her back and make arrangements. I sent a certified letter to their headquarters stating I disputed the charges and to not report anything on credit. I also called the apartment complex, and was told that they never once sent anything to collections regarding my name, only the lease holder that took over my lease. They must have researched the previous lease holder, which was me, and tried to collect the debt from me. I called them again to let them know of the information I would be sending over and again they were very rude on the phone, rushing me off and instead of giving me an address to where I can send the docs, telling me to call back to speak w/an account manager.
