-/-/14 - Received a collection letter from - for a charged off - Credit Card. I worked out payment arrangements of $25.00 every month for -, -, and - of 2014. Also worked out payment settlement agreement with - of $2700.00 to be paid in - of 2014 ( gave bank account information for auto drafts of the payments ). - did not honor agreement and sold debt without taking an auto drafts, I called to verify with - where debt went and they could not tell me. I waited to hear something from a new credit collection agency. I did not receive any letters or notifications until I finally received a summons to appear in court on - at - to go to court on -. Unifund CCR LLC based out of Ohio was suing me for the debt that I had originally worked out a settlement agreement with - for $8100.00 which is a incorrect balance. Disputed the validity of the debit with Unifund via e-mail, in court on -, and via certified letters sent to Unifund and their attorney - based out of - -, MO. Attempted to communicate with Unifund on - via telephone prior to
my signature from the original creditor - - - Credit Card Company - and an itemized explanation of how they came to the balance. - certified letter was sent on - to Unifund, another certified letter was sent on - to - sent a - request to - on - along with discovery requested by the attorney 's office. At the hearing on -, Attorney - - - provided 2 year 's worth of copies of charges on the - Card but did not provide the proof of ownership nor did they provide a valid agreement with my signature on it. I was given a quick court date after being summoned. I was not allowed to communicate with Unifund and - would not discuss unless I called through a call center and stated that I was not recording the conversation nor was a 3rd party listening but stated that they would be recording the conversation. - call center is using bullying '' tactics to scare people when they ask up front if you are recording the conversation or if a - party is listening before they will discuss the account with you however, they are allowed to record the conversation on their end. Poor communication on both sides from - and Unifund. Unifund nor did - provide the proof of ownership or my valid signature as requested by certified mail within the - days as requested. I also received signed mail receipts from both Unifund and - showing they received all letters referenced above. I would like to also state that this collection through Unifund nor does this original charged-off - credit card appear on any of my credit reports, I checked all - -
