I am an -. I tried to rent a place 2 years ago, close to the University -. At that time I had never been in campus, so I asked the receptionst for advise about how close was the apartment complex to the - of the University -. They said that they were - min. walking to the -. They immediately they asked for my information, my social security number, etc ... and sent me the contract to fill it outt. I never signed the contract in their offices. I never did it, because when I arrived to - - Michigan and discovered they did lie to me, I asked to cancel the contract and they did it by word. The manager told me that they were so sorry and that they understood that they were not that close to the university. Everything went well, they have my email address. They never contacted me again. On - -, I received a letter from ProCollect with a debt of - dls. I do not recognize this debt because I never lived in - -, and I never signed a contract in person in their office. Now this is affecting my credit score. I have't had any problems with my credit scores before, I always pay my debts when I know I owe money but they never tried to contact me during this 2 years and now they are just affecting me. The manager at that time told me that I was fine. I do not have any other documents from them telling me that I owe money. So I do not recognize this debt, since the manager canceled it.
