Wells Fargo Credit card department,
I took a home improvement card from Wells Fargo Financial National Bank for a home improvement. They offered a 48 month no interest loan. I made an initial payment to even out the amount I would have to pay then set up auto pay from my checking to pay half of the due amount every two weeks. In short, there is no possible way that I have missed or have been late with a payment. When I got my last statement, Wells Fargo has charged me a $25.00 late fee. The fee was generated because they have cutoff dates when they apply money to the bill and because they applied part of the - payment in -, they have justified billing me a late fee. I called Wells Fargo and asked them to remove the late fee because there is no possible way that I was late with a payment. The agent said, As a - time courtesy, I can reverse the charge but you will be responsible for future late fees. '' They imposed the late fees through their own action and not because I was late. I have since had to re-structure my payment plan to pay the entire amount once per month so they can not continue to manipulate the pay date to unfairly charge bogus late fees. It is not a courtesy to give me back money that they had no right to take in the first place.
