On Friday - - I signed on to the online banking to check my account when I noticed that my savings balance and available balance were - different figures. I called the bank immediately and was told there was a court restraint on my account. I asked what this meant and I was given a collection agency to call ( Selip and Stylianoup ) to get assistance. I called the collection agency and was told they had a judgment against me from -/-/- in my maiden name. I asked for some kind of information about this so I could check into it. The name is my maiden name and my address was wrong. All I was provided was the account was opened in -/-/- and that the court awarded them a judgement in -/-/-. This was the first time I heard of this, I even asked if she was sure it was me and not my ex husband. She asked if I had an attorney to speak to which I did n't. They had put a hold on my savings account in the amount of $1900.00 but the judgment I finally got a copy of shows the amount of $1700.00 and there is actually due $1300.00 but I was n't given anything to back up this claim. The agent explained that she will send a form to the bank for me to sign which will allow the bank to send them the money and release the hold on my account. She insisted I do this quickly because the hold will stay on my account and I wo n't be able to use my bank. I was so scared I went ahead and went to the bank to sign this form. I am curious though why the judgment had - amounts on it and they took even more money. I have enclosed all the forms I have. Thank you
