Communication tactics Threatened to take legal action Texas
On -/-/15, my husband told me that his ex wife contacted him to let him know that someone called her house looking for him to collect a debt. On -/-/15, I received the following voice mail on my cell phone : '' My name is investigator - -. I 'm with the - - - - Department working with - County. I 'm attempting to notify - - of a certified court summons I 've been hired to deliver on - - - to the home and/or place of employment. If I do appear at your place of employment, I will need a supervisor present as a witness. If for any reason you wo n't be available on that scheduled service date, or if you wish to resolve this voluntarily, you may contact the petitioner at - and refer to case number -. Also, your failure to notify the filing party will result in me coming out with the sheriff as well as being issued a body attachment. Thank you, -. Good luck.
... left us no recourse other than to report your non-compliance in this issue to the proper jurisdiction. Our office number is -. Please reference file number - when calling it and have a good day. '' The first part was cut off by the outgoing voice mail message. At this point, I called the number. I told the man on the phone that I had been receiving calls from the number I dialed. He said that it looked like they were trying to reach - and he said my husband 's name. I did n't tell him that they were attempting to reach my husband ; I told him that the person they were trying to reach could not be reached at my number. He asked if I was sure. I said I was. He asked if I could get a message to that person as there were legal actions pending. I told him no, that whatever the issue might be was not my problem. He told me not to be like that, so I told him again that they could not reach the person they were looking for at my number and to take my number out of their system. He hung up on me. On -/-/15, I received another call with the same message as the one on -/-/15. Today, -/-/15, I received another call from the same number that I answered and disconnected right away. I am concerned at the threats of arrest, legal, action, and body attachments '', the giving of information to someone who is not confirmed as the spouse, the continued calls after it was establish that the person they were looking for could not be reached at the number they were calling, the claims of working with the County ( and not the county I live in, either ), etc.
