I received many calls from a debt collecter to the point where I had to change my phone number. This is a debt that is from 6+ years ago which I do n't have proof that I paid but in fact did pay. They have gone ahead and reported it in my credit reports. I tried calling - last time in an effort to solve this issue and was threatned that if I did not pay they would contact my - and contact my employer ( which they repeatedly called and that 's how we found out it was a false collection agency ).
