SunTrust Bank Credit card convenience checks November 5, 2015 - SunTrust Bank offered me a - to replace the bank card that doubled as a credit card, I agreed to accept it. They also offer convenience checks monthly. I needed to use one with the understanding that it was interest free for 18 months. Starting in -, I was charged interest. When I called, I was told that because the credit card was no longer interest free, the amount of the convenience check and whatever charges I had would be combined and I would be charged at the rate of the credit card.
