Resources for resolving common issues with VHDA products and services

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is a 21st century agency that helps consumer finance markets work by making rules more effective, by consistently and fairly enforcing those rules, and by empowering consumers to take more control over their economic lives.

The CFPB will forward your complaint to VHDA and work to get a response. After your complaint is forwarded, VHDA has 15 days to respond to you and the CFPB. VHDA is expected to close all but the most complicated complaints within 60 days.

March 14, 2016 - My mortgage is with Virginia Housing Development Authority. I pay my mortgage online and this month there was an additional fee of $350.00 indicating it was a fee for possibly mitigation and/or short sale ( it was n't clear ). I tried calling VHDA but could not reach them. I tried just paying my regular mortgage fee but the system would n't allow me to. December 22, 2015 - We are still $ - under water on our mortgage. I could not re-finance my VHDA loan. I asked numerous times for a solution. So we began the short sale process. September 17, 2015 - Selling house found issue on vhda loan. I must have forgotten to pay the -dollars on my loan and got no correspondence that I was late. I was trying to change my name on my loan and they told me a month ago I was 30 days past for 7 months. The man I originally spoke with said they had sent out a letter every month for seven months that they had proof of that. I squared up this month. Meanwhile selling my house and I 'm told I need a statement of my loan history for my lender.
