I did n't expect any problems and accepted their word for it. About 5 years later, this collection company started calling me numerous times a day, every day. I told them I do not owe this debt. I emailed them to cancel it within the 120 day period and it was being disputed. Did not have any contact with debt collectors, assuming that this was taken care of. I tried to get a mortgage, and found out through a credit report that they had filed to collect once again. I only found out through the credit report about the collection. Debt collection improper contact or sharing of info contacted me after i asked not to September 19, 2015 - Monterey Collections sent me a bill from 2009 from a company called - - that went out of business and or went bankrupt. Several years ago I turned them in for harassment and illegal collection practices. I sent them a letter many years ago with a do not contact. They have now contacted me per mail to tell me to pay up to a company that does not exist and out of there statue of limitations per CA Penal Code 1748.10. I sent a letter to Monterey Financial Services on - -/-/- and it was returned with no forwarding address. When I spoke to Monterey again, they would not give me an address to correspond with them. They stated I have to pay this money in order to get any information. The merchant never returned the initial amount of purchase but then charged me for the next month supply ( which I never received ) as a recurring fee of $69.00 and I disputed the transaction and told them I have already returned the system and they should n't be charging my card with any recurring fees because I wanted no business with them.
