I am very disappointed with the service! Numerous ( separate ) inquiries by their partners were done after accepting their offer to " save ''. I was told over the phone that the loan had been finally approved at the rates I was quoted online, but was then transferred ( by phone ) to a local branch to make an appointment to sign the paperwork. LendingTree, Inc Consumer loan shopping for a loan or lease November 10, 2015 - I used a website 'lending tree.com ' to shop for auto loan rates. The website asked for my personal information and the page title was 'Compare live rates ' and the final button was labeled 'View Free Offers '. When I clicked on 'View Free Offers ' my personal details were shared with companies that ran hard credit inquiries. I did not consent to any such terms - nor were they displayed in any form that made it reasonable to presume that I was effectively completing a loan application. I signed up on leaning tree because it explicitly says in the sign up process that it would only be a soft credit inquiry against my credit. They collected all the sensitive information including, my name, SSN, address etc. According to their site I was supposed to get free offers '' for HELOC and equity line of credit. Instead they showed one _mortgage_ offer! This does look like a scam, they just collected all the information from me promising one thing and offering completely different one. When the account was created lending tree automatically applied me for a loan. I did n't even get to see terms or information about the lender. I just got a credit rejection email, for a loan I did n't apply for! Also, I ca n't figure out how to remove myself from this site and discontinue my 'membership ' but I 'm afraid that if I try it might try to apply for another loan for me.
