Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan can't decrease my monthly payments
Sallie Mae Student loan department,
Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Can't decrease my monthly payments Nebraska
The company where I currently have my private student loan through will not give me any options to lower my monthly payment, that I have repeatedly told them I can not afford. The only option they would give me was to put the loan in forbearance. Even though I have told them I can pay something just not the total amount of the loan due to being a single mother of - children. I have had to put the loan in forbearance 2 times for 3 months each. While the loan is in forbearance it is still accruing interest which will increase the monthly payment even more. When I asked the employee about this and how that made any sense if I already can not afford the payment and basically the only thing they will do is increase the amount of the monthly payment, the employee would only state that he was sorry but there was nothing they could do for me.
