Vehicle lease Taking out the loan or lease Ohio
I had a 3-year lease with Kia for a - Kia Sorrento that concluded on or about - -, 2016. The vehicle was returned on time, without damage and under mileage. All payments were made on time during the life of the lease. At the conclusion, I was invoiced the $400.00 disposition fee as per the lease contract. I called Kia finance on -/-/16 and asked them to waive the disposition fee, but they declined. The reason I requested the disposition fee to be waived is because of repeated failures with the vehicle 's operation. Within the first few months of taking ownership of the vehicle, it started having problems with the electrical system, most notably that the voice-dialing feature of the hands-free system did n't work properly. I brought it to the dealership ( - Kia in -, OH ) more than once and asked them to fix it, but they were unable to. On the last instance, I had the technician sit in the car and was able to re-create the problem for him and his response was " Yep, that 's a problem, good luck with that. '' I did n't press further as I was willing
key out of the ignition, the engine kept running. I again took the vehicle to the dealership but they were unable to find or recreate the issue. Finally, just a few months before the lease expired, I was driving - mph on the highway and the car completely shut off and I had to pull to the side of the road. I took it to the dealership again, but they were unable to find any problems or recreate it. I finally turned in the vehicle at the end of the lease and will not be doing business with them again. I asked the people at Kia Finance to waive the disposition fee as a sign of good faith and they declined. I will be paying the fee so as not to have it go to collections, but I think this should be investigated further as the company was repeatedly unwilling or unable to resolve multiple safety issues with the vehicle they leased to me.
