Hyundai Capital America Consumer Loan department,
Vehicle loan Taking out the loan or lease Florida
-/-/- My husband and I were victims of a fraudulent transaction at - - Hyundai. We were convinced or rather " conned '' into trading in our 4 month old - Hyundai Elantra for a more expensive vehicle ( - Sonata ) with the promise of a - - passenger van. The van transaction was being done on the side and being delivered from their " repo lot '' in -. This entire transaction took place at the dealership with gentleman - - - - - - - sales - ) who both represented themselves as employees. Once the paperwork was signed, - - said he had to take the new - to - to bring back the van. We took home the ( trade in ) Elantra until he returned with the van. On -/-/- we still did not have the Sonata or the new van so we called the dealership and spoke to - - and demanded the Sonata back or would call the police. A gentleman by the name of - - returned the Sonata to our place of residency this same day with - miles on it. On -/-/-, - Al - came to our home
After being ignored by all staff at the dealership and hung up on, we filed complaints to various agencies and asked to see the owner of - - Hyundai. We met with the alleged " partner '' - - who stated he had no knowledge of such transaction and denied knowing - - - - -. - - stated he felt horrible and would help us get a van and into a less expensive vehicle. After a couple of weeks, we were financed for a - - - on -/-/-. This was our only sincere interaction with - -. During our meeting, - - denied knowing - - and - -. Both - - and - - reported to us that neither men work for - - Hyundai. On -/-/- we were called into the dealership to resign paperwork since wife changed employment. When my husband went to the dealership he was told the financing did NOT go through and they took the Malibu back. He was NOT offered the Sonata back. I had to go to the dealership to pick my husband up ( The Sonata was seen for sale on the lot ). Hyundai Motor Finance called several times demanding late payment for the Sonata. We explained what happened and requested cancellation of the loan since dealership had the and still has the -. - - stated he would pay the first month payment of the loan as a goodwill gesture ( see attached- it 's not even the right car ). When I called Hyundai finance, no payment had been made. We believe this was another attempt to deter us or defraud us. We have NO idea how we got financed for the vehicles since our credit is less then average - we upgraded. No money down ; trade in was a new car. We had also gone to - other dealerships prior and were denied. Also, after checking credit reports, we have OVER - hard inquiries from - - Hyundai, Hyundai Motor Finance and - - - on both of our credit reports. without permission
