I file this third complaint with the CFPB against Navient ( formerly - - - for the following reasons : In Navient 's response to the - prior CFPB complaints I filed last year, Navient indicated they would include a note to credit reporting agencies indicating I was disputing the debt Navient was reporting. In reviewing my credit report in - 2016, I find that Navient has failed to report to credit reporting agencies that I am disputing the debt Navient has refused to provide me with a breakdown of the payments I have made to them and what portion of those payments have been credited as interest, principal repayment, fees, and penalties Navient has refused to provide me with the formula they used to calculate the amount they claim is owed Navient continues to negotiate in bad faith. Last year, Navient extended to me an offer to settle the debt. However, Navient did not convey the details of this offer, nor the fact that they had even made the offer, to the debt collection agency that they employed and advised me to contact to finalize the offer. When I informed CFPB and Navient of this fact, Navient then distorted the facts and suggested I mislead the debt collection agency. I did not - the debt collection agency had no knowledge of any settlement offer. Navient subsequently threatened that if I refused further calls from yet another debt collection agency, they would not honor any prior settlement offers Navient has now employed yet another debt collection agency that has begun contacting me at irregular hours. I have contested this debt, complained about Navient 's deceptive, unethical business practices, and have attempted to negotiate with Navient in good faith to reasonably settle the debt. Considering there can be no question that I have disputed this debt, Navient 's use of another debt collection agency is nothing more than another attempt at harassment and intimidation Prior CFPB complaint numbers : - -
