I was never notified that my interest rates increased for - my loans near the end of last year. As such, my payments went up and I did n't know that until I just happened to look in the portal. Essentially, I could have been seen as delinquent on my loans if I had n't caught it due to the lack of communication from the loan servicer. As a side note, it is generally not a profitable practice to leave your borrowers in the dark about rate changes, it is advised that a form of electronic or paper communication be sent before the next pay date that the rate increase affects.
