Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Trouble with how payments are handled Colorado
Discover Bank. I was double charged on my first student loan payment ( I am already paying them 35 % of my monthly income ). Customer service seemed confused and insisted that they could not help me and that I needed to work with my bank that the double charge was being pulled from. I am already financially thinned out because Discover does not deal in income based repayment plans, and I am now at risk of having a " Late '' status on my account due to their mistakes. This may reduce my chances of refinancing elsewhere. Customer service needs to read the notes on the account prior to trying to understand the situation and further confuse the customer. - of the - agents I spoke to was rude and demeaning. Wasted my time.
