Installment loan Managing the loan or lease Managing the loan or lease Arizona
I purchased some furniture around - of 2015 and it was financed by Synchrony Financial. Since the loan was taken out I have been making double payments to get the loan paid off. In - my computer went down and while I was shopping for a new computer and setting it up I received a communication from Synchrony Bank which reflected a $25.00 late charge because I had not made my payment by a certain date in -. How can I be regarded as late when my payoff is ahead of the game. As soon as my computer was back online in - I transferred the double payment for - to Synchrony Financial via bank payment. I then contacted them by phone and the person I spoke to was very unwilling to reverse the late charge until I mentioned I was going to report the action to the FTC. I was then told I could request a waiver of the late charge which I asked her to do. I do not feel confident that this happened or will happen at this point because of the attitude of the telephone contact. I do not think it is right or legal for a company to charge a late payment charge when - is ahead of the game on payments.
