On - -, 2015 - - - sued me in - - - for an amount they alleged I owed on a Lowes credit card. On the afternoon of - - - 's attorney contacted my attorney and requested the continuance of a hearing that both parties agreed to. Despite their agreement to the continuance, on - -, 2015 - took a default judgment against me anyway in the - 's court. On - -, 2015, through my attorney I entered into a signed Settlement Agreement with - to pay an amount we agreed upon for full and final settlement of their claim against me. On - -, 2015, following all instructions in the settlement agreement, I mailed the full payment agreed to, in the form of a money order, to - - via certified mail. The return receipt shows they received this payment on - -, 2015. Despite the fact that I paid the full amount - agreed to and despite the fact that they received this payment, with no other notice to me - took the default judgment against me and on - -, 2015 they recorded it in the - court of my county. As of this writing ( - -, 2015 ) to the best of my knowledge and belief this account is still listed as unpaid and as being in collections on my credit reports. By recording a judgment in the - Court after they were paid in full as agreed, and by continuing to attempt to collect an alleged debt after I had paid it in full per the signed agreement with them, I believe that - - - has violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Their unjust actions have caused further damage to my credit record, and they have caused embarrassment, damage to my reputation, and many other problems.
