Discover Student loan department,
Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Pennsylvania
My daughter ( Joy Shambourger - Cust ID - ) has student loans originally with - - and they were sold to Discover Student Loans. She borrowed funds for college from - - 5 times, resulting in - student loans with the bank.. She is now forced to pay 5 separate payments each month. I am a co-signer ( - - ) on the loan and when I contacted Discover about the issue, Discover states that - - will not allow them to consolidate the loans so that my daughter can pay a single payment per month. All of these loans are with the same bank and yet they are billing all 5 payments for each month separately creating a large payment per month that she can not afford to pay. I originally filed a complaint against - - and they responded that they no longer own the loan and have no control of loans. - - stated that the loans are owned by Discover Student loan and I would have to contact them about any issues that I have with payment of the loan. Below is a list of the loans and the payments due each month : Loan Number -, $180.00 ; Loan - $100.00 ; Loan - $100.00 ; Loan - $140.00 ; Loan - $110.00 ; Total per month = -. This amount per moth is unaffordable. Can something be done about this situation? We are trying to repay our student loan debt but the bank 's policies are unreasonable. It feels like they are deliberately setting families up to fail. Please help!! We are close to defaulting on the loans.
