I did not receive communication, though they insist they sent it. Calls to Jefferson Capital informed me to first call their account reps to get my information. Another call said the debt had been sold to a company called -. A call to - told me it had yet been sold to another company. I have n't received any kind of information from these companies with debt validation or giving me the right to dispute. The original claim was from 2008, and the orginal collector could never furnish any data to prove this. Jefferson Capital bought this debt and is listing in my credit report as new, has never contacted me, or provided evidence of what makes up this amount. This item should be removed from my credit report and this company should be fined. I contacted Jefferson Capital to advise them that they can no longer report on a debt they are not collecting. They sold my debt to - - - - in - of 2015 yet are still reporting it. She explained to me that the charge off happened three days previous, - and continued to tell me to deal with collections.
