I rented a car when visiting my mother in -, Texas, several months ago. I returned the car to the airport when I flew home. First, I received letters stating I needed to return the car. I contacted - and stated that I had returned the car. I had to fill out paperwork while at the airport because my mother 's neighbor backed into the car, and I listed her name and insurance information as the responsible party. The neighbor 's insurance agent had called me, accepting responsibility and giving me all the pertinent information to turn in to the car rental company. Then, I get a bill for $800.00 for the damages. I sent another letter explaining everything again, with all the insurance information I had already given them for the damages. Now I get another letter dated -/-/2016, demanding payment and warning of collection efforts. Here is a copy of the letter I sent them : Viking Billing Service - - - - - -, MN - Dear - - : This letter is in reference to your letter requesting payment

When I returned the car, I stated on the paperwork that the neighbor backed into the car and she gave me her insurance information. I spoke with the insurance company, and the company accepted responsibility. Obviously, - not only had lost the car ; the paperwork also vanished. Here is the information again. The insurance company is - ; claim number is -. The insurance agent 's ( - ) number is - x -. I have been in - and just now opened your letter requesting payment. I have never had such an experience with a car rental agency, especially with one as well known as -. Sincerely, Please advise how I can stop this harassment.
