Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Can't get flexible payment options Tennessee

My loan was suppose to stay in deferment until I graduated from my current program and then payments were suppose to start six months after graduation. I completed my program -/-/2016. on - -, 2016 I received a letter dated - -, 2016 from Wells Fargo stating that my - loan is now in default and is due in full immediately. When I called them they told me that there was no way they could reverse anything and they would like me to allow them access to my checking account so that they can charge me $310.00 a month on automatic withdraws. If I had known that the loan payments were required I could have made arrangements to pay them without the account going into default and now my options are limited. As a new graduate I am still trying to make my way and earn funds necessary to pay off the loans I have.
